The cast of characters in that game wasn't as interesting or entertaining to be around. The story for the first get was compelling enough. It's easier to play with a friend in those cases. At certain points you'll be wishing for the story to just get on with it.

You can tell that these are games designed for a portable console. The only real issue with the first two games is that they eventually become very montonous.

Minus one character it's an all new cast in a different continent. You can also skip both games and jump straight into 3. I might go as far as saying you can just play Resurrection if you're thinking of just playing one of them. God Eater Resurrection was released after Rage Burst and I missed some things from that game when I played them for the story chronologically. You could play them in chronological order or for gameplay sake I'd say play God Eater 2 Rage Burst than God Eater Resurrection.

On PC it's two for one when you buy the older God Eater games. You can cheese the late game of resurrection with overpowered bullet builds and using the predator styles to get OP back quickly, and Rage Burst adds Blood Rage that makes the fights easier too. So basically, for great combat, 3 definitely tops the others, but if you're looking for good characters and story I much prefer the first two games.ДЄlso if you didn't like the gameplay of the original, Resurrection and Rage Burst added new mechanics to the game to make it more accessible. Resurrection (the remake/re-release of the remake/re-release of the original 1st game as you put it) and Rage Burst (remake/re-release of the 2nd) flow right into each other very nicely (plus include all expansions released for both games), sharing recurring characters and referencing events that happen in the first game. However I found 3's story and characters rather forgettable, especially in comparison to the first two titles. Everything just flows quite well and I had the most fun just with the gameplay here. We're on hardware that can do it now unlike the PSP and to a lesser degree, Vita.ДЈ has the best combat imo since its the latest in the series.
